netSCOPE offers Surveyor Corporation's Transit Robitic Camera Mounts. This mechanism adds a new dimension of range and flexibility in distributed camera systems. Operated under computer control via RS232/422/485 interface, the Transit RCM provides high speed, accurate, low-cost positioning and extended field of view to existing CCD/CMOS video camera systems.

The Robotic Camera Mount is a computerized positioning control for network video cameras. The Transit RCM provides accurate remote positioning control for new or existing CCD/CMOS video camera systems connected via digital networks, such as Internet or intranets.

Especially significant, this new controller adds value and functionality to existing stationary video cameras (analog or digital) by increasing their field-of-view (up to 270 degrees, depending on camera used) and eliminating the need for low resolution "fisheye" lenses. With pricing starting at $395.00, the Transit RCM offers enhanced communications connectivity while potentially saving users thousands of dollars over existing integrated pan/tilt camera solutions.

Transit offers maximum control speed of 240+ degrees/second; on-the-fly speed and position changes; pan range of 180 degrees, with 200-270 degree field-of-view range; and minimum tilt range of 60 degrees up and 60 degrees down (120-160 degree range, depending on optics and camera size).

There are 2 versions of Transit RCM: the Standard Version with maximum rated payload of 1.5 lbs (.65 kg); and the Heavy Duty Version with maximum rated payload of 4.5 lbs (2.0 kg). Transit's simple Graphic User Interface (GUI) allows point-and-click controller set up, and Windows^TM 95/98/NT, Java and HTML/CGI-script remote control. System software is provided via download from Surveyor Corporation's website and easily integrates into existing System Integrators' software solutions. For maximum flexibility, a Software Developers Kit (SDK) will be available to help System Integrators create custom applications that interface with the Transit RCM unit.
